HOMES WITH CHARACTER, HISTORY, AND QUIET NEW BEGINNINGS

For more than three decades, I have worked between historic walls, private homes, and quiet new beginnings— listening to a space before I draw a single line.

‍My work begins with the story a home already holds, or the one it is ready to become. In historic houses, this often means preserving old beams, worn stone, original proportions, and the traces of time. In younger homes, it means creating depth, warmth, and identity from the very beginning. The result is a home where architecture, materials, and daily life belong together naturally.

WHAT I DO

Interior Architecture

Thoughtful interior architecture for private homes, apartments, and historic properties, shaped around the character of the building and the way you want to live.

Concept Development

Each project begins with a clear idea: how spaces should feel, function, and relate to one another — from the first vision through to the overall design direction.

Materials, Color & Atmosphere

I develop material palettes, colors, surfaces, fittings, and details that give a home depth, warmth, and a sense of coherence.

Kitchen & Bathroom Design

Kitchens and bathrooms are some of the most important and intimate spaces in a home. I design them as part of the whole, whether bespoke or developed with selected brands and suppliers.

Technical Planning & Drawings

As required by each project, I prepare or coordinate technical plans and drawings that translate the design into clear information for contractors, trades, and specialists. This step helps ensure that proportions, details, and materials are understood before work begins on site and forms the basis for realistic cost estimates.

Selection of Trades

A strong concept needs careful execution. I can recommend and involve tradespeople I have worked closely with over many years — trusted craftspeople and specialists who help ensure that the design is carried through with care and precision. Where needed, I also help obtain and compare estimates so that scope, quality, and budget are aligned before work begins.

Project Management

With many years of experience on building sites, I not only design the spaces but also help ensure they are built as intended. I coordinate and oversee the contractors and tradespeople, ensuring that the work, details, and materials align with the design we have agreed on together. This careful oversight is often what makes the difference between a project that simply gets finished and a home that truly reflects the atmosphere, quality, and feeling you wished for.

HOW I WORK

I am not a designer who lets go of a project easily.

From the first conversation to the final details on site, I stay close: to the rooms, to the drawings, and to the decisions that shape the atmosphere of a home.  I see my creative work as interpreting my clients’ personality and taste, and turning that into a unique, coherent design.

There is a particular sensitivity in how I handle existing pieces – much‑loved furniture, art, and objects.

Incorporating these into the concept is an essential part of the equation, and often what creates a truly distinctive, personal space.  Light, natural materials, and textures are the paintbrushes I use to create a home that can become a quiet showpiece. Understated elegance is the kind of sophistication I strive for – calm, unforced, and true to the character of the property and the people who live there.

In our office, I often hand over parts of the technical drawing work to trusted colleagues, but the design itself remains in my hands.

I review plans, materials, and details carefully, and I am present as questions arise on site. I then continue into project management, accompanying the work until the project is finished. For my clients, this means having one person who holds the thread from beginning to end – someone who knows the house, the vision, and the path we chose to get there.
